Class Information

Our group classes are a synthesis of the Jun Fan Martial Arts (JKD), Filipino Martial Arts (KALI, ESCRIMA, ARNIS), Indonesian / Malaysian Martial Arts (PENTJAK SILAT) and the Thai Martial Arts (MUAY THAI/THAI BOXING). This forms the nucleus of the curriculum taught as the MAGDA INSTITUTE SYSTEM. Training methods and techniques from other martial arts are also incorporated and utilized in the training process at the Phoenix Martial Arts of Connecticut, e.g. ( WING CHUN, SAVATE and BERSILAT)

* Sifu Nate is only accepting private students at this time. Email for more information on admission.

Goals at PMAWM

Our goal at Phoenix Martial Arts is to help our students discover themselves.  Martial Arts is one of the best vehicles for self-improvement and self-discovery.  Martial Arts provides a physical outlet and a mental break in the lives of our students, while giving them real practical self-defense skills.

Through teaching martial arts and self-defense, our mission is to help our students improve their physical well-being, and their mental attitudes.  Our students will learn how to defend themselves, they will become healthier, they will gain more self esteem, they will acquire a strong work ethic, and receive a complete Martial Arts education.

We work patiently with our students so that they can reach even their most challenging personal goals. No student is over-exerted or under-challenged.

At Phoenix Martial Arts classes are designed to provide personal attention and instruction to guide students through their program, in a modern and comprehensive way of teaching.

M.I.A. Association

The Magda Institute Association is an international martial arts organization with schools in the United States, England, Germany, and Italy. MI Association students are very fortunate to be a part of the MI Association family.

All MI Association schools receive their curriculum from the Magda Institute. The Magda Institute curriculum is a synthesis of martial arts with Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts (Kali, Escrima, and Arnis), and Indonesian Martial Arts (Pentjak Silat) forming the nucleus of the system. The training methods and techniques from other martial arts, such as Bersilat and Muay Thai are also seamlessly integrated into the training process. All MI Association certified teachers receive direct training from Sifu Cass Magda.
